REFLECT | RESET | RESTORE

Reflect:

Hello love,

I can’t believe 2023 went by so fast and the first month of the year is already almost gone. Time is flying in my world. I have found that whether you believe in New Year resolutions or not, the end of a year and/or the start of a new one is a perfect time to reflect, check in with yourself, and set new goals and new intentions.

For me, 2023 was truly a life-changing year. Quick highlights, I started the year off giving birth to my beautiful baby girl, Serenity Luna. My firstborn graduated from high school and started college. I joined the 40 Club and leveled up to Captain. Despite all of these amazing moments, the year wasn’t all unicorns and rainbows.

I ended 2022 in the hospital and started 2023 off with a series of traumatic events including losing people I love and having a close call with death. The events I experienced challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and embrace my unique journey, and my unique gifts. It would have been much easier to give up or continue to stay “safe”  but I chose to strengthen my faith and grow through what I go through.

“I’m thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn’t have stumbled across my strength.” – Alex Elle

Reset:

I welcomed the New Year just as I intended, in the comfort of my home, peacefully. I took a relaxing bath to ensure I stayed up, wrote in my journal for a little while followed by some gentle yoga. Way better than the previous year being beginning with me in the hospital. As I counted down the seconds to the New Year, when the clock struck 12, I received a surprise. I can now see the fireworks downtown from my bedroom. It was the perfect ending and beginning. The perfect reset, my word for 2024.

As I heal, I’m focused on my self-love journey and embracing everything that makes me authentically me, especially my strength, it is truly a gift.

Last year, my family started an addition to our home. It has been stressful having such a chaotic year during a pretty big renovation. I think the baby and I have slept all over the house as we waited for our rooms to be finished. At one point we even took over my oldest daughter’s room. Talk about tons of changes in every area of my life! It has truly been an amazing experience seeing my vision come to life from the plans to the structure to designing and organizing our space. It’s been an excellent time to declutter and has aided in my overall reset tremendously.

Mojo

It feels good to be finding my rhythm and getting back into my routines and in some instances establishing new ones. I am happy to be creating the space for the woman I am, for the woman I aspire to be.

Getting clear on my goals helped me to be on this path. I believe you cannot get clarity in a cluttered space or with a cluttered mind. Clarity brings out creativity and my mindfulness practice helps me give myself grace as I work toward my goals one step at a time, one day at a time.

Restore:

Restoring my mind, body, and spirit has been a priority for me and an enlightening experience. Life is truly a journey and last year taught me although I can’t control what tomorrow will bring I can be mindful and present for whatever comes my way.

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.– Forrest Gump

I’m celebrating my little wins and cherishing my time with my children. I can’t believe Serenity is a year old already! We had to postpone her party because of the lovely weather we are having here in Buffalo, but she seemed pleased with the cupcake she had on her actual day.

I can’t wait to go for my first run, that milestone will represent my physical strength being restored. So many of you have reached out to me and expressed your excitement to work with me on your fitness journeys. I am honored that despite what I’ve been through so many of you still believe in my ability to help in that area of your lives. I look forward to announcing my programs soon.
